Keeping count

I hope this link works permanently, as I have enjoyed crunching the numbers for the general election.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/election2010/results/

My analysis started on the assertion by some that as only 16.6% of Sccotland's 2.4 million voters put an x in the box marked conservative, Scotland shouldn't be ruled by a Conservative led Westminster government. An interesting point. I am assuming that because less than 16.6% of the 7 million voters in the South East and South West (of England) didn't vote Labour, we shouldn't have a Labour government either.

Or maybe I'm missing the point. Perhaps the real issue is its time for Scotland to go its own way. Not a bad idea. The EU can fund them instead of the English.

Cutting out the post office

Wow, David Cameron has been in power for one day and he has already got his new mate Nick to come up with a cracking website - http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/index.htm - from which you can renew things like tax discs, passports and more. That is not bad at all. That saved me so much time queuing at the post office (assuming they haven't all been closed down already).

A new dawn

I woke up this morning to a bright new dawn - the sky was filled with a glowing orb of yellow and the sky was a bright, stable and strong blue. How much better did life feel than last week, particularly as I was off to a cookery day with a wunch of fellow bankers.

Now back with several recipes, it is time to start adapting them. Firstly, the focaccia we had wasn't in the folder, so we need some links to make it at home.

Thanks to the Allrecipes websight for this one. We'll find out later if it is any good.
